(TNS) LAS VEGAS — Once your tires vibrate passing over your first cattle guard out of the Las Vegas Valley, chances are you are about to stumble into what makes much of Nevada one of the last untouched Western frontiers — public land.

(TNS) Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was being treated for “life-threatening” injuries after being shot in what the nation’s Interior Ministry described as an assassination attempt. Fico, 59, was attacked after a government meeting in the town of Handlova some 165 kilometers (100 miles) northeast of the capital Bratislava.

(TNS) BALTIMORE — Two electrical blackouts on the Dali freighter sent members of its crew and the pilots on board scrambling to control the vessel as it approached the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the early morning hours of March 26.

During senior night on May 8, numerous Cherryvale High School students were recipients of endowed scholarships, memorial scholarships and alumni scholarships totaling $22,175. Representatives of the Cherryvale Alumni Association Scholarship Committee Scott Fox and Tamara Blaze handed out the awards during the ceremony. The three different types of scholarships were: endowed scholarships — a permanent fund where the investment stays intact and scholarships are awarded from the allocated earned income from the principal investment; nonendowed scholarships or memorial scholarships — given in memory of a family member, classmate or friend; and alumni scholarships — funded by onetime donations, century club contributions, lifetime memberships and money-making projects.

Fab Lab ICC has announced the launch of its first-ever Welding, Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Camp, partially funded by the NBTFoundation, along with generous contributions from local individuals, donors and businesses. Scheduled June 3-6, this innovative camp aims to provide hands-on learning experiences in welding and entrepreneurship while fostering creativity and skill development among students.

Neewollah 2024 Queen's Co-Directors Abby Emert and Molly Reynolds announced the date for the Queen Neelah Summer Workshop, as it has been scheduled for Sunday, June 2 in the ICC West Woods Room. This event is designed for any girl that will be a senior in high school during the 2024-2025 school year.
