IHS soccer stuns Wichita Homeschool in Indy

Seven of those goals came before halftime, with the Homeschool side making some adjustments in the locker room.

Closing reception for Americans and the Holocaust held

The Independence Public Library concluded their event series for Americans and the Holocaust with guest speaker Frank Liebermann, a Holocaust survivor, on Thursday, August 25. This traveling exhibit was courtesy of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Library Association. Wine, popcorn, water and cookies were served while Liebermann presented via Zoom.

Parade entries sought for Cherryvale Homecoming festivities

The Cherryvale High School Student Council is looking for anyone who would be interested in putting together a float to ride on in the Cherryvale Homecoming Parade, to be held September 30. The parade will start lining up at the high school at 1:45 p.m and will depart the school at 2:15 p.m. This years parade depart from the school north on Carson to Main Street, continuing on Main to Liberty and then stretching south on Liberty to Logan Park before disbanding.

While all pond weeds and algae can become a nuisance and start to overtake a pond, requiring control, one type of algae is of particular concern and that is Blue-green algae.
