The Caney FFA took home high honors at the State competitions for poultry judging and livestock judging earlier this month. 

Upper Cut Boxing Club was well represented in Topeka at the House of Representatives session March 19.

Fiddler on the Roof comes to Independence High School for three days beginning Friday, Mar. 9 and Saturday, Mar 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the IHS Performing Arts Center. Tickets are: $8 for adults and $6 for students. 

The Independence Junior Tennis Team started their season on Thursday morning in Ark City.

What began as a chance encounter has turned into a blessing for Macee Session as she, along with her “miracle dog,” Anna, are now an inseparable pair – all thanks to a family friend's mission: help Anna through classes to become a therapy dog for Macee.

4-H'ers from all over Montgomery County descended upon Caney Valley High School Saturday, Feb. 12 to show off their talent and expertise at this year's 4-H Days competition. Results for those that participated are listed by category and the ribbons they received in the event.
