More than 120 Independence High School juniors invaded Independence Community College West Thursday to tour and check out the technical programs offered at the campus. Programs visited included vet tech, EMT, Allied Health, cosmetology and culinary. 

Despite the cold rain, the Independence High School Prom went on as if nothing would stop them from celebrating their evening of "A Tea Party In Wonderland."

Independence High School (IHS) Indy Ensemble and Mixed Chorus members led by Erika Smith, Vocal Music instructor, took home top honors with all earning a one rating at the KSHSAA Regional Solo and Small Ensemble Festival on Saturday, April 7 at Independence Community College. 

Soon after his arrival as the Montgomery County Emergency Management director, Rick Whitson realized the gap in communication among the emergency agencies in the county and surrounding region.

Fiddler on the Roof comes to Independence High School for three days beginning Friday, Mar. 9 and Saturday, Mar 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the IHS Performing Arts Center. Tickets are: $8 for adults and $6 for students.
