Neewollah had one casualty … a downtown tree was damaged to the point it had to be removed by Riverside Park staff. A Neewollah food vendor, Hoopingarner Concessions, was backing up their rig for placement at Penn Ave. and Laurel St. when they backed into it.

While volunteers were downtown minimizing damage to other trees they were notified of the majorly damaged tree. The tree was damaged enough it had to be removed Wednesday.

When contacted, City Manager Craig Whitehead said there was "not much detail at this point" and Neewollah organizers had been notified. He noted no citations had been given out.

Neewollah organizer Stacy Yakshaw said they have been "notified of the incident" and will probe more when festivities are over.
