The different vehicle parts being worked on throughout the shop were the look of success for Quality Paint and Body, located at 1920 W. Main St., Independence, as Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and other interested residents toured the business Wednesday morning when a ribbon cutting was held to signify their official Chamber membership.

President Lisa Wilson welcomed Quality Paint and Body to the Chamber and presented them with an official plaque noting their membership and a Reporter gift certificate for advertising.

"What I want everybody to know is this is kind of a trio — we've got Quality Motors, Quality Toyota and now Quality Paint and Body," Wilson said. "We are excited to have you as part of the Chamber."

Scott Mills, co-owner, told attendees the business will celebrate their third anniversary June 15.

"Alan Wulf and Kevin Botts are my two partners. We had the dream and vision to do get into the collision work and do the car stuff, and get into some commercial painting," Mills said. "We kind of cover all aspects of painting and making things shiny."

Mills explained how Quality Paint and Body feels they have a state-of-the-art facility for the area and really good equipment.

"We have the best people we could pick to do various tasks," he added. "This is what we created."

Mills then took the group on a tour through the facility noting they have 10 employees and customers from all over the United States. They have a regular and a commercial paint booth so they can paint train cars if necessary. Other areas of the facility include restoration and body repair. Quality Paint and Body attends various car shows and Mills said they get many clients from those.
