A Coffeyville woman was sentenced to serve 51 months prison time Tuesday morning. Michelle M. Church, 49, pled guilty to two counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine. Church sold the Methamphetamine on March 13, 2018 and March 15, 2018 to an undercover FBI agent.

According to Montgomery County Attorney Larry Markle, the convictions are result of a six month long investigation that began in March 2018 and ended with several arrests in August 2018. Twelve more convictions are to follow of defendants arrested in various parts of Montgomery County.

The investigation and drug bust were conducted by a task force which included the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Coffeyville and Independence police departments, and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

In a press release, the County Attorney's office thanked the KBI and the Coffeyville Police Department for their efforts on Church's case.

"The hope is that this effort will send a message to all of those that choose to deal in illegal drugs in Montgomery County," said Markle.
