For 36 years, ABATE of Kansas, District 3 has been supplying toys for underprivileged children with their annual toy run and 2018 will be their 37th annual event for members and guests.

The riders will meet at the Riverside Park Oval from noon to 1 p.m. with the toy run beginning at 1 p.m. Riders will travel from the Oval to the SEK Food Bank at 307 W. Pecan St. where they will drop off their donations of toys. Then they will head to the American Legion, Harold R. Andrews Post 139, 1531 W. Main St., Independence, for food and fun. 

Two, three or more wheels are welcome to join the toy run as everyone is welcome.

ABATE of Kansas, District 3 is a motorcycle organization composed of motorcycles enthusiasts throughout the country. They are a neutral organization who allows all riders to unite in brotherhood to safeguard motorcycle rights and still have different views. Membership benefits include tremendous political power for opposing anti-motorcycle legislation; a monthly newsletter to help increase communications among motorcyclists; a membership card and patch; participation with large groups of fellow riders in toy runs, blood runs, swap meets and other service-oriented functions; and participation in monthly meetings.
