    I would like to take this opportunity to educate everyone about the importance of getting a flu vaccine this year. CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends use of any licensed, age-appropriate influenza vaccine during the 2020-2021 influenza season. Flu viruses are most common during the fall and winter.

    Trick or Treating is a big time for some children and keeping them safe is a priority. The Independence Chamber of Commerce will again host Trunk - Or - Treat Wednesday, Oct. 31 and they are currently seeking participants to host a trunk.
  • Saying goodbye to Durham. Indy school district to take over transportation services

    With the last year nearing on the five-year contract with Durham School Services, the USD 446 Board of Education, with input from school administration, made the decision in August to formally end the contract to provide the district's transportation services.
