  • Candidate for governor meets with Women for Kansas

    A special meeting with the Women for Kansas, a bipartisan women's group, was held at Ane Mae's Saturday to meet with Jim Ward, democratic candidate for governor. Ward expressed his desire to use his experience as the Democratic leader in the Kansas House of Representatives to deliver on his good ideas for Kansas. "I have an insider's knowledge with an outsider's demand for change," stated Ward.

  • Jefferson School becomes a Living Wax Museum

    Just push the button and you will hear the story of a famous Kansan.

    Thursday for one hour, Jefferson School was transformed into a Living Wax Museum as the fourth grade students became a famous Kansan of their choice. "The students researched a famous Kansan for the past week and Thursday was the culmination of  their week of research on why these people were famous.

  • New artists to be featured at Eclectix Art Gallery Remix event

    Eclectix Art Gallery, 311 N. Penn Ave, Independence, is hosting an event which offers the community a chance to get to know the newest artists/members at the gallery. Each quarter three artists will be featured at the gallery with a special opening event.
