Black Friday might look a bit different this year but that didn't stop shoppers from finding great deals on holiday items. Shoppers donned their best face covering and joined the shopping experience all around the country and the southeast Kansas area was no different.

Brian Hight, with Magnolia Scents by Design, said the morning started out slow Friday but the customers came out in droves as the day went on. At one point, he had to keep count as to not crowd the beloved gift shop — per CDC guidelines. Hight said the shop was offering 25% off all goods in the store with the exception of artists' items for a Black Friday only special. The store is offering an online shopping special through Monday.

Apricot Lane Boutique offered 30% off most items in store until 4 p.m., stating it was the only day to get a "discount as good as employees."

Libby's Boutique stocked up on new candy options and offered a free leopard scarf with every $40 purchase. Website savings were also offered.

For shoppers who purchased any two Brighton pieces from Cantrell's Fine Jewelry, they received a free piece of Brighton jewelry. Other Black Friday specials included a diamond pendant for $25.99 and more.

Be sure to join shoppers Nov. 28 for Small Business Saturday which encourages people to shop small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses, which is more important than ever through the COVID-19 pandemic.
