Its back! Cruisin' Indy and All Wheels Night team up with Main Street in downtown Independence to bring back the days of cruisin' the city just like it was over 30 years ago. It all begins Friday, April 20 along Penn. Ave. downtown.

"It's going to be bigger and better than last year," said Truman Kolb, co-founder. Every third Friday from April through September, Cruisin' Indy and All Wheels Night will continue to parade though the city and enjoy some good family fun. "It doesn't matter what kind of car or truck you have. It's about joining the cruise," said Klob.

All Wheels Night begins at 6 p.m. with cars lining up in the parking stalls along the 200 block of N. Penn. Ave. The band Straight Away will be performing near Independence Pharmacy where participants and spectators can pick up a Walking Taco and drink for only $5 from the old fashioned soda fountain inside the pharmacy.

At approximately, 7p.m. Cruisin' Indy begins their cruise starting at the Independence Pharmacy and American Soda Fountain.

"To start the cruising season off we are going to have a Poker Run that first Friday with the best hand winning about $200. It costs the Cruisin' participants nothing to enter the Poker Run.

This year, Main Street joins the action with Cruisin' Indy and All Wheels Night to bring even more excitement to the event. Tabatha Snodgrass, Main Street president, has set up a Facebook event page which generates a lot of traffic.

"I came on board with the event a little late this month but I was able to get the Facebook page set up. In the future months we are looking for some of our fine retailers to remain open a little later to attract some shoppers. I am also working with a few at-home entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs to take advantage of all the traffic downtown and set up booths to showcase their projects. If the seed has been planted I want to water it," she said.

"This should be a bigger and better year. Last year was outstanding in the response we had and we learned a lot about what and what not to do but it is still about people getting together, having fun with families and cruisin'," Kolb concluded.
