    Pumpkin season is still upon us as we say good- bye to Neewollah, and hello to Thanksgiving. These iconic fruits (be- cause they blossom from flowers) have become a staple in our homes around the holiday sea- son, and are usually associated with the Thanksgiving table in the form of soup, pie, or even a centerpiece. But what about the seeds? The most nutritious part! Not only are they considered a whole grain full of fiber, but they also contain plenty of zinc to ward off those nasty winter colds, and these magical seeds have been found to be great source of plant based omega-3 fats, to keep your heart healthy after all of that holiday eating. If your pumpkin is no longer serving its decorative purpose as the centerpiece on your table, it’s time to turn it into a salty and sweet treat that everyone can enjoy.
